Strikefarce, Once Again

HISTORY2011-03-09 10:03:21 +0000 #1

At least they got Emelianenko to face Antonio Silva which is decent and get Fedor to fight. And they got Barnett .vs. Arlovski after a year of planning.

But...Werdum .vs. Rogers?

God, Strikefarce sucks. Overeem will never fight in there again anyways, don't get your hopes up.

Strikeforce today is expected to announce the quarterfinals of a planned eight-man tournament, and its remaining matchups have filled out.

In addition to previously announced matchups of Fedor Emelianenko vs. Antonio Silva and Andrei Arlovski vs. Sergei Kharitonov, a third bracket featuring Strikeforce champ Alistair Overeem (34-11 MMA, 3-0 SF) vs. Fabricio Werdum (14-4-1 MMA, 3-0 SF) is on tap, and a fourth targets Josh Barnett (26-5 MMA, 0-0 SF) vs. Brett Rogers (11-2 MMA, 2-2 SF). It is unknown whether the quarterfinal will put Overeem's belt on the line.

I like these matchups now, Strikeforce is finally trying to make some sense, hopefully it all works out as reported.

If this tournament gets past the first round Ill be shocked.... Fedor is gonna fuck it all up.

I guarantee, contract issues will fuck this thing up. Guaranteed.

They may get all the other fighters to fight, but there is no way they are going to get Overeem and Fedor to fight in a tournament like this unless this tournament lasts for two years.
