The meeting – which was also attended by UFC president Dana White, UFC executive Lorenzo Fertitta and other high-ranking officials from the promotion – did not go well.

"With his explanations, I don't know how productive of a meeting it was," NSAC executive director Keith Kizer told MMAjunkie.com ( www.mmajunkie.com: www.mmajunkie.com ). "I really did expect a much more constructive meeting out of that. But it just wasn't there. I think Zuffa tried; I know we tried. I put the blame completely on Mr. Sonnen."

At the hearing, Sonnen claimed he had spoken to Kizer about his use of testosterone prior to his fight with Nate Marquardt at UFC 109 and had received a verbal greenlight. He said the same in a subsequent interview with HDNet's "Inside MMA" program.

Kizer, though, denied ever speaking to Sonnen about the issue in an interview with MMAjunkie.com shortly after the fighter's hearing.

"His point was, 'Well, you and I have never talked before right now, but I don't think I lied,'" Kizer said.

"Then he gave some very strange story and claimed, 'My manager and you talked about therapeutic exemptions, and therefore, I just used the wrong word. I should have said 'my' instead of 'I.' As in 'my manager' instead of 'I.'

"I was very straight with him, saying, 'That's a ridiculous explanation.'"

I honestly can't see the dude ever getting a license again. Lying on national tv about conversations with gov officials, then following that up by lying to government officials faces on multiple occasions, on top of drug charges, and federal indictments?

The dude is a wack job. I think he's one of those guy's who lies so much he believes himself.

Chael is a top-level douche, proven cheater, and convicted money-launderer. But he's white and can wrestle/talk **** (with the best of them) so the UFC will (and already has it seems) bend over backwards to give him fifth, sixth, and seventh chances....

Edits in brackets

As far as not ever being able to get a license im not so sure... Granted that he has lied through his smiling teeth on TV and to the committee, i do think well see him fight again... Someday

Yeah at the bottom of the article Kizer says that whole situation will be brought up at a hearing, as it's one thing to critize a ref, but it's a completely different story to straight up lie and say the ref did his job improperly or incorrectly.

Someone get Loot in here. I want a psychiatric evaluation of this guy.

Welllll, I kind of see his point. If Kizer did, in fact, speak with his manager and that conversation DID take place, then Sonnen's agent did get a verbal authorization. You can make the claim that Sonner did speak with Kizer through his official agent. Sonnen may have been led astray by his agent and was acting on good faith.
