Which Current Strikeforce Champ...

Which current Strikeforce champ(s) do you think can make an immediate impact on the title picture in the UFC?

Heavyweight - Alistair Overeem

Light Heavyweight - Dan Henderson

Middleweight - Ronaldo Souza

Welterweight - Nick Diaz

Lightweight - Gilbert Melendez

I think Melendez has a great chance at getting the belt. I don't know if I would favor him over frankie or Gray, but I think he would be very competitive.

I would love to see Jacare mix it up with UFCs 185ers. I think he makes an interesting matchup with anyone including Andy.

Diaz is tough, but I think wrestlers would grind him out. He still is the best 170 fight left for GSP.

The Reem is a beast, and I wouldn't be shocked if he got to the top, but I wouldn't pick him over Cain, and a few others would be close.

Hendo is good, but he isn't beating the top 3-5 in the UFC.

I think the Reem would do great in the UFC, I pick him over almost everybody in the UFC's HWY division. I think Diaz would do OK, but GSP would kill him IMO. As for Hendo, he would never get past Jones, but think he would do ok against anybody else.

1. I think Melendez has a great chance at getting the belt. I don't know if I would favor him over frankie or Gray, but I think he would be very competitive.

2. I would love to see Jacare mix it up with UFCs 185ers. I think he makes an interesting matchup with anyone including Andy.

4. The Reem is a beast, and I wouldn't be shocked if he got to the top, but I wouldn't pick him over Cain, and a few others would be close.

5. Hendo is good, but he isn't beating the top 3-5 in the UFC.

1. Melendez would certainly rank in at #3 in the LightWeight division (IMO) now that BJ fled... A fight with he, and either Edgar/Maynard is a complete toss up to my standard. Id hafto say he (narrowly) loses both of those bouts however.

2. Jacare is definately scary... The perfect bout for him to get his feet wet in the UFC waters would be Rousimar Palhares. Something tells me he falls drastically short again Anderson however. Not much of a difference between Jacare and Maia

3. I shouldve listed Nick Diaz in bhorr's thread of 'which fighter we should ignore you on'... Just cant stand the guy, and i hope Daley puts a beating on him tomorrow night

4. Alistair would be my pick as to which champ within the StrikeForce brand would give the UFC's division absolute fits. Until the guy actually shows he has any weaknesses at HeavyWeight, i rank him at #2 in the world right now... Behind Cain

5. And of course last, but certainly not least my guy Hendo... I could go on and on about how/why he wont be able to be competetive in UFC's 205 division but i just wont give anyone that pleasure... I love him too damn much! In short... Too small, Too old, Too fatigued. Give him all catchweight fights at 195 against guys that would actually belong there and hes the champ if there ever was one... Lets face it, hes beaten all of those guys already anyways

It depends on what we mean by "title picture." If that only involves being the #1 contender and fighting for the title, then I think Overeem, Jacare, and Melendez could qualify.

But if the title picture involves the top 1-5 guys in the division, then each of those guys is capable of shaking things up.

Strikeforce always had a handful of top guys. The problem was depth.

I'd go with Melendez or Jacare. Both are legit top guys in their divisions, and I wouldn't be particularly surprised if either guy was a champ one day. Diaz would eventually fall to a wrestler, Overeem would eventually get punched, and Dan would eventually fight someone with head movement and cardio (but, could still take a decision regardless).

1. Ehhh... Alistair has been hit pretty hard before and bounced back in his 205 days. With the added weight, his neck allows for alot more shock/impact-absorbance so besides a flush shot from Cain, Junior or Carwin, id say he holds up pretty well. Chuck caught him flush with that signature overhand right and didnt put him down... Guess that means he has one of the best chins in MMA right Ash? Or at least better than Chuck himself..

2.
