A heavyweight bout between undefeated Matt Mitrione (4-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) and Christian Morecraft (7-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) has been added to UFC on Versus 4.

UFC officials today announced that verbal agreements are in place for the fight.

UFC on Versus 4 takes place June 26 at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh. It marks the UFC's debut in Steel City.

The night's main card airs on Versus, though it's not clear if Mitrione vs. Morecraft will be part of the broadcast.

Mitrione, an NFL vet who joined the UFC after competing on "The Ultimate Fighter 10," looks for his fifth straight MMA victory. Mitrione, who's spent his entire pro MMA career in the UFC, defeated castmate Marcus Jones at the show's live finale before earning wins over Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson, Joey Beltran and Tim Hague. The victory over Beltran earned him UFC 119's "Fight of the Night" bonus.

The Duke Roufus-trained fighter now meets Morecraft, who recently rebounded from his first career loss, which came to Stefan Struve during a promotional debut at UFC 117. But at UFC Fight Night 24 this past month, the Team Bombsquad fighter submitted Sean McCorkle and picked up his seventh stoppage win in seven career fights.

I was hoping Mitrione was gonna step up in competition a bit. I would have liked to see him fight Schaub.

Yeah, there's no way Morecraft takes this. I was happy to see him beat McCorkle, but I can't think of many guys he could beat otherwise.

I think he did

I'm looking at this more as the UFC building him slowly. They probably did not want to make Schaub vs Mitrione because they think both can keep moving up.

I think also Schaub might fight Big Nog in Brazil. Mitrione will probably fight Mark Hunt or Struve if Struve wins his fight soon.

Struve makes sense if he beats Morecraft (which I imagine will definitely happen).

I see Morecraft trying to get it to the ground, failing and having to put up with Meathead's canned hams raining down for 3 rounds. Mitrione is so much better of an athlete, I really doubt he loses.
