Best Strikers in MMA?

So with the whole discussion of Nick Diaz's striking I'd like to know, who do you guys think are some of the best strikers in MMA right now?

Right now I'm leaning toward Overeem being the best P4P but I know I'll probably be scolded and told about how weak his chin is

But anywho, leave your thoughts.

In terms of pure offense it's easily Overeem.

However, when you take into account the whole game, (offense, defense, footwork, head movement, etc) I'm thinking Andy Silva.

anyone who scolds you over saying that the k-1 heavyweight champ is probably the best pure striker in mma would be out trolling.

i mean, you could make an argument against it, but to act as if it's a dumb thing to believe would just be ****ing retarded.

I thought we had a thread like this awhile back, but maybe it was in regards to take downs.

But I guess you have to quantify best striking. Do you mean basically K1 type striking or how one uses striking best applied to MMA as a whole?

Pure striking, Anderson simply because he schools anyone and everyone on the feet, Reem is up there, but I'd like to see more in the cage.

As far as applying it to MMA, my vote goes to GSP because while he doesn't KO people in one hit, he's so good at dishing out damage, not taking it AND making EVERYONE respect it so much they are screwed the second he wants a take down.

The problem with Overeem is, he's never beaten anyone decent in MMA, and has been knocked out or out-struck like a dozen times. If you're going to rank guys regardless of their success in MMA, there would be a bunch of guys ahead of him like Badr Hari, Schilt, Sefo, etc. If you're going to rank guys based on their resume in MMA, then he's not even close to the top of the list on that one.

I remember listening to an interview with Duke Rufus a while back after the Petis kick and the host asked this same question. Rufus rattled of a couple of guys like A. Silva, Penn and GSP. The host specifically asked him why he left Overeem off his list and Rufus basically said that Overeem is a decent striker with a lot power, but if you're just looking at technique, he's not in that elite class. I agree with his thoughts.
