A season of Ultimate Fighter with women fighters, trainwreck or workable?

Just a random idea that popped inot my head while reading an MMA article. If there was a season of the Ultimate Fighter that was held for one or both of the womens divisions in MMA, would it be an epic fail or something that could work?

I think that competition wise it would probably be pretty goddamn weak. There are probably enough fighters for those divisions out there to fill out a season of Ultimate Fighter, but if you cut all but the top 4 fighters out from such a season, you would have a division with 4 fighters plus the coaches (assuming the coaches were women).

On the other hand, I think it would possibly make for very interesting TV. regular reality shows that are full of women already have all sorts of histronics and drama. That plus the certainty of knowing they will actually fight might be entertaining. Things would get pretty goddamn crazy when a bunch of bored women with nothing to do but drink who know they will fight each other are also all PMS'ing in sync.

Still, probably an epic fail and train wreck.

Could it work? Yes

Would I watch it? Probably

Are there enough talanted females in one weightclass to make a decent show? I don't think so...but don't follow women on the small shows enough to know for sure.

Would it help build characters, fighters to cheer for in the women's division? Yes

Will it happen? No

With women's MMA the way it is now, the fighters on the show may damn well be better than the coaches (assuming the coaches are female as well.)

bingo.

I don't think it would help women's MMA at all either. I think it would further show the stereotype because you'd see a bunch of chicks getting involved with all sorts of stupid drama (just like normal scripted reality TV) and there would be a ton of the "I'm a chick so I have to be ultra sexual" type crap going on. I think it would only further the stereotype.

Yeah, that is pretty much what I figured. To be clear I am not about to start harassing Dana White to make this kind of thing happen. I am just wondering how the a typical season of Ultimate Fighter would play out in this instance.
