Kurt Angle "almost" signed with UFC

Man, is this guy good at distorting reality or what. Even if he ever did land a UFC contract, do you think he could beat anyone in the top 20 in his weight class (he's supposedly 240, so he'd fight at heavyweight)??? I'm very doubtful. Dude's been through neck fusion surgery.

Kurt Angle Says He Almost Signed With UFC - Dana White Says "Not True"

TNA star Kurt Angle spoke to MMAWeekly.com this week to discuss his training for the United States Olympic Wrestling team and hype his new MMA movie, "Warrior." During the interview, Angle stated that he came very close to signing with the UFC - but UFC President Dana White has a different view on how things went down.

Kurt Angle told MMAWeekly:

"I actually contacted Dana White again after the movie. I flew out to meet him once and got a great offer. I contacted him again, I was thinking about dropping out of Impact wrestling, and there were some personal problems with my marriage and I just wanted to get away. I contacted Dana White, I flew out, and he had me take the UFC physical. I passed it, thank God, and he gave me the offer. The terms weren’t good, I mean not for me, and the terms I gave him weren’t good for him. He wanted me ready in four-and-a-half weeks; I wanted three to six months. So I respect Dana White and I love him to death, very good friend. I knew I was capable of winning in four-and-a-half weeks, but I wanted to be at my best."

Dana White was asked on Twitter about Angle's claim, to which he responded: "love kurt but not true."

Where did you get this "240" figure from? Is that what they announce him at for wrasslin? Don't believe those numbers, he isn't anywhere near that. That said:

1) This won't happen, this is just Kurt keeping his name out there.

2) Hypothetically, Angle could've been one of the greatest mma fighters of all time. His wrestling skills in mma terms would be unmatched.

Yeah, I gotta call BS on Angle's claim. He was still way too old and hurt going by the timeline he provided, and there's no way they would've tried to get him to take a fight a month after signing.

To be fair, he'd probably beat Bonnar. I'm not even joking.

Hmmm. The wrestling would present a problem, but I think Bonnar would be able to submit him. His jiu-jitsu isn't the strongest, but I still think he'd be able to submit someone sub-white belt level without too much difficulty. Or, sweep him and pound him out.

You think Angle could possibly have worse submission defense than Coleman?
