One FC is this Saturday

LordZardoz2011-09-06 23:13:55 +0000 #1
The inaugural One FC card is going to be this Saturday in Singapore. Which may mean some time this Friday in North America.

Any one else interested in this event? And does anyone know what time the Sherdog stream is to start?

I'm interested, but I also know what to expect. Considering people here complain about the quality of M-1 shows, this one is going to be much, much sloppier and uglier. The card seems to have quite a few Muay Thai fighter vs Muay Thai fighter match-ups, and if you're at all familiar with small time MMA, those fights tend to be very ugly and nothing like a Muay Thai fight. You also have the PRIDE classic "BJJ black belt vs. Pancrase journeyman" match in Gracie vs. Kim, a classic "guy recently cut from the UFC vs. guy recently cut from the UFC" match in Baroni vs. Yoshida (which should be a good fight), and a couple matches pairing guys who won belts in the minor leagues. Should be fun. I don't think I'll be able to catch this live, so hopefully Sherdog keeps an archive of it up for awhile, or maybe the torrent site I use will feature a nice webrip.

I just noticed my bookmaker is taking bets on this event, the whole card even. This strikes me as unusual, since he never takes bets on Asian MMA. I think I'm gonna bet on Phil Baroni!

it's Saturday night at 7 p.m. in Singapore that means it'll be 7 a.m. Saturday in New York City and 4 a.m. in Los Angeles. I'll be watching.
