Daniel Cormier: Your thoughts

I've been a fan of DC since he started in MMA. The guy has a great attitude and his potential can no longer be ignored.

I've watched th Bigfoot fight about 5 times already, and his striking looked very sharp. He shots wer sharp and powerful, and he did a great job getting inside of an 11 inch reach deficit. The jab, left hook, right uppercut combo he put on silva at the end displayed a higher level of striking than most HW fighters and the guy keep getting better. Obviously his wrestling is world class, so he really has a bright future.

What are your thoughts on his progression, and how high is his celing?

I'm sure I will flamed by some, but I see no reason he can't compete with and defeat the Lesnars, overeems and mirs of the world. I expected him to impress against Bigfoot, but he exceeded my expectations by a mile.

His height is always gonna hurt him.Judging strictly on his body type it also looks like he needs to take his training more seriously.I think he could be towards the bottom of the top 10,but 5'10 240ish is going to lead to problems at the elite level of the UFC.For 9 fights though the guy is amazing, incredible striking for a guy with limited experience. The uppercut was as textbook as you can get.

I think this is a pretty common misconception. All reports are that he takes he training serious and has taken over the head wrestling coach role at AKA. People will cry for him to make 205, but it ain't happening. He almost died from kidney failure due to trying to cut to 211 for the Olympics. He wants no part of cutting weight after that. As round as he looks, he's a solid guy.

His reach may be cause for concern, but as he showed last night, he is developing the tools to compensate quite well. I've already shown why 230 - 245ish is optimal for a HW, so I won't get into all that again.

I'm not sure why, but I can't get behind this guy for some reason.

I wanted him to lose more-so than I wanted Bigfoot to win.

The guy is a Hollywood movie waiting to happen. He would be easy to promote for the UFC if he stays relevant. His life story is quite astounding and makes it easy to root for him IMO.
