Does GSP Change fighters?

After watching what I saw yesterday with Sheilds, Im starting to think GSP beats fighters so bad that they never fight the same.

BJ Penn- Has gone 3-2-1 since his fight with GSP.

Thiago Alves- Has gone 1-2 since fighting GSP

Jake Sheilds-Has gone 0-1 since his fight against GSP.

Matt Hughes- Has gone 3-2 but was knocked out quickly by any good striker he faced.

Matt Serra- Has gone 1-2 since fighting GSP.

Jon Fitch- He has gone 5-0-1 since the fight but no longer chooses to stand with his opponents or finishes fights.

Dan Hardy-Has gone 0-4 since fighting for the title. All losses were by a wide margin.

Maybe its just me who thinks that but still, I mean the facts show it. Tell me what you guys think.

Well BJ's only losses after GSP were title fights as well, so really you can't say he's been "changed", he is still up near the top. Alves can't wrestle, and he's in a division full of wrestlers. I've never felt like Shields was legit, so I'm not surprised. Hughes is just over the hill, best years are behind him, and I don't think it directly relates to GSP. Serra was never that good, and his first win over GSP was a fluke, and his career is definitely over the hill. Fitch's change may be the closest to being directly caused by GSP, but still I don't really see a strong relation. Hardy sucks, end of story.

Similar, and likely even more staggering, numbers apply to fighters after facing fedor, and I'd be curious about andersons opponents as well.

Not sure exactly what to make of it.

Perhaps guys are mentally and internally not as driven after finally obtaining a chance at greatness only o be crushed or dominated. Maybe the drive to succeed drops to a Degree as a result.

Oh geez this is as bad as the Fedor thing.

those are all really easily explained if you take a moment to look ar any other factors at all.

bj's only lost to frankie. alves lost to a guy he already lost to once and a really strong up-and-comer. shields has had exactly one fight a week after his dad died that lasted about 1 minute (nothing to go on there). hughes' time as elite has passed (3-2 is actually a decent record for him considering). serra and hardy were never all that good to begin with (and had much harder opponents after their shots than before). and fitch is the same guy he's always been.

none of that suggests anything at all to me.
