I posted this in the **** thread, but I guess it is kinds big news as we didn't realize just how much the top guys can make. This probably includes sponsors, which GSP has big ones.

"I learned that the UFC makes the most money on pay-per-view when I am fighting. That made me smile. For me, a fight is (worth) $4 to $5 million, and in the city where the UFC holds its events, there are economic benefits of between $15 to $20 million. It's huge!"

Not surprising considering Dana's comments a few weeks ago to Joe Ferrero

"Let me put it to you this way: Georges St. Pierre is, by far, the biggest pay-per-view star in mixed martial arts. By far. By far. The biggest pay-per-view star. Big. By far the biggest pay-per-view star in MMA. So, for what it's worth, for people who want to say he's this or that."

Impressive. I wonder when GSP says "for him" if he means that's how much he ends up with for GSP alone, or what he gets before he pays off the stuff he has to pay off as a part of his paycheck

This is pretty much what I would have guessed he makes. Similar for brock as well. The old cut of the PPV scale that randy released had him getting $3 per buy for everything over 300K. and GSP is consistently in the 800K-1Mil range. Plus his purse and top notch sponsors.

This thread got me searching fighter net worth and while GSP is worth 15 million, BJ is worth 40 million... WOW. It's weird how some of the fighters you would think have more money than others actually have less.

I dont think he is talking sponsors at all, just his UFC paycheck.

As pointed out, Randy was making 2 mil plus per fight, Bart was making 3-4 mil per fight so GSP at 4-5 would make sense. Keep in mind there are different tiers of sponsorships: those based on whats shown/mentioned on tv on fight night and then there are the deals where GSP does print ads, online ads, photo ops, etc...

Also, there is some type of spiff for guys doing UFC media and personal appearances whether thats cash or a Ferrari every now and then I dont know.

For two fights a year GSP probably banks 9-10 million from the UFC and another 5 mil from sponsors, making his annual pay around 15 million.

I guess it could go as high as 20.

Yeah, but who knows how much of this has to do with the fact that BJ comes from a rich family.
