Is there anybody who is a member of the UFC fanclub which allows you to get access to purchasing tickets early willing to help hook me up for UFC Japan? I have been doing some research here (well my wife has been doing most of the searching and I have been directing) and we can't seem to find out much about getting tickets in Japanese, let alone in English.

My Dad is going to be in town so I was hoping to purchase a couple of alright tickets so we could go to the event together. If anybody can help me out please PM when you get the chance - thanks in advance.

From Middleeasy:

If you're located in Japan, tickets will be available for pre-sale today, November 28, through UFC mobile and then on November 29th through WOWOW and Nikkan Sports. Tickets will also go on sale the first week of December on ePlus before they go on sale to the rest of the general public on December 10th. Ticket prices range from (in Japanese Yen) 100,000 ($1,287 USD), 34,000 ($437 USD), 19,000 ($244 USD), 9,800 ($126 USD), 5,800 ($74 USD).

Im going to be curious if the show is an instant sell out or slow. The UFC hasn't exactly been popular in Japan has it?

I think it will probably sell out.

The audience for MMA exists in Japan, it will be a function of the ticket price and the marketing effort, and exactly how many tickets they want to sell.

The Saitama Super Arena can be recongiured though, with a large movable section. The capacity is anywhere between 5,000 - 37,000, with a typical capacity of 19,000-22,500. (yay Wikipedia).

I think they can easily hit 15000 tickets.

Wikipedia puts attendance for Dream 16 at 8,142 at Dream 16, and the crowd size for Dream 17 looked decent-ish on the HD-Net broadcast. I cannot find an attendance number via Google or Wikipedia for that event. The card has a large number of Japanese fighters, a title fight (which is very uncommon for overseas UFC events), and they have some old 'Pride' appeal via Hunt and Rampage. The X factor is that this is the first time the UFC is going up against some reasonably well established local competitors (Dream). I also do not know what the early local start time will do to the event.

I figure they can easily sell 15000 tickets, but it wont be an instant sellout. they will struggle hard if they try to get more than that. But if it does turn into an instant sell out, I would not be surprised if they try to reconfigure the seating to keep adding more.
