Good news for all you aspiring mixed martial artists who run around at 125-pounds.

The UFC is finally bringing flyweights into the fold, as Octagon king Dana White today announced that a four-man tournament will be held on March 3, 2012, to crown the very first champion.

The two fights include a couple fighters already on the roster. Demetrious Johnson will drop down from bantamweight to take on Ian McCall, a man widely regarded as the top flyweight in the world, while Joseph Benavidez will cut 10 more pounds to fight Yasuhiro Uru****ani.

I love it.

Wonder if this'll show on UFC on FX 2 in Austrailia, or if they'll put it on a completely different fight card.

i think Dana screwed up and got his dates wrong. So the UFC on FX 2 makes sense

If that's the case, I'm beyond pumped for that card.

Kampmann v. Alves plus these two fights? That's gonna be a fun one.

Ian McCall has been begging for a 125 lb division and now unfortunately he has to fight Mighty Mouse right off the bat. I would have to think MM is the favorite as well as Benavidez.
