TheJuggernaut's Testament

As usual, there are a lot of questions after what we've witnessed. A lot of you are already spreading rumors of my demise, already patting yourselves on the back for being broken clocks, already self-assured of your own victory. This is wrong. There are a few key questions worth asking tonight.

1. What happened?

Exactly what I said would happen, mostly. Jones was who we thought he was, but Lyoto (and Big John) let him off the hook.

As even some respected enemies said after the fight:

Indeed, and banana splits on the house for those being honorable and humble in victory tonight (something Jones wasn't). Banana clips for the rest of you.

Round 1- Machida uses his superior speed and technique to land a flurry of punches on Jones, and lands one of the hardest kicks in a long time on Jon's body.

Easy round for Machida, and between round 2, even Rogan noticed what many of us had pointed out, that Jones would start being afraid.

Round 2- More of the same for Machida, but then Jones gets a takedown. Fair enough. What happens on the mat? Jones gets an elbow cut. No real concussive damage, but he sliced him because that's what bony elbows do. Okay lucky break, but nothing major.

Machida then gets back up, ready to explode out ( remember, his cardio advantage was one of his major weapons). Then...inexplicably, Big Jon decides to step in when both fighters were working.

This gives Jones time to breath. Even the doctor reacted with a WTF.

From there it was a standard exchange and the new rejuvenated Jones got Machida in a standing guillotine, (a low % move for anyone not named Marcelo Garcia). Sh*t happens.

Lyoto Machida would win more than his fair share of rematches.

2. What are the implications?

- We've seen a cap on Jon's speed. There are faster fighters than him. Lyoto Machida is one of them.

-We've seen that there are better strikers even with shorter limbs. Lyoto Machida is one of them.

-Jon's go to sub will always be a guillotine. His long arms give him more leverage for a lot of the variants, including standing.

-Jones can't hold down a good grappler.

-Fighters will be a lot more confident about striking with Jones.

-Ref biased in favor of Jones is confirmed. Big Jon wanted a cheap blood stoppage and a breather for Little Jon.

3. What does this say about how we predicted things?

Nothing. Rule #1 of predictions is that you can only evaluate skillsets, and how they interact. E.g. Fighter A will beat fighter B 70% of the time, because of X skills. So the correct method for picking fighters is based on analyzing the methods, not the result. We got the methods right. Lyoto Machida is the faster, more technical striker.

The broken clocks were just that, Broken clocks. "What spinning Kung fu will Jones use?!!!111ONE!!!'

4. What about all the homos talking ****?

Ain't but a thang. Here's how real motherf*ckers handle being classy in victory:

Enough said.

5. What about Jon Jones?

- He had the greatest year in mma history. Clap for him:

-He would lose a fight to Anderson Silva, but MMA is stupid, so Anderson would probably trip and knock himself out, to wild hyperbole by Joe Rogan.

-He's still a classless, piece of ****, asshole.

He held a choke, and admitted to holding the choke. "Yeah I knew he was out". Then after that, he dropped his opponent, that he knew was out.

Disgusting. Jones will get his in time. Until then, it's hard to see Rashad and others beating him. Lyoto would win the rematch, but he'll have to win like 10 in a row before he gets one.

There's a reason the people were against Jones, and cheering for Lyoto. They see through his facade.

MMA is in dark times right now, but then I step back, and recall the immortal words of Leon Trotsky, before he was killed by Stalin's agents:

Natasha has just come up to the window from the courtyard and opened it wider so that the air may enter more freely into my room. I can see the bright green strip of grass beneath the wall, and the clear blue sky above the wall, and sunlight everywhere. Life is beautiful. Let the future generations cleanse it of all evil, oppression, and violence and enjoy it to the full.

Leon Trotsky.

That is your review? Really? No fanboiism there.

You state, Jones gets a take down. You fail to mention that Jones NAILED Lyoto which rocked him. Lyoto went from moving quickly while leaning backwards in his normal style, to leaning forward, stepping heavy on his front foot. Jones basically walked right in to Lyoto after that, with ZERO defense on Lyoto's part then got the take down.

Jones has been to multiple rounds a few times, never has he looked gassed, so saying that Big John helped out Jones by having the docs look over that cut is a joke, Lyoto, was caught a second time by a left, showing that Jon Jones has power in both hands, he was dropped and the rest is history.
