Shin Guards

I purchased a set of Lizardskin shin guards for the mountain bike clinic - I have had enough scars from my BMX pedals

The guards are great, but I am short and found the top of the guards rubbed some skin away on the back of my thigh just above my knees. Are there any brands out there that would work better for shorter legs? I did see some women with guards that just protected the front of their legs, but until I get better I really need some kind of protection for at least a portion of my calves... that is actually where most of my BMX scars are from, though some are on my shins.

I ran across this website today:

www.rockgardn.com

One of their shin & knee guard styles uses neoprene to secure the guard to the upper leg. Sounds comfier than your current ones.

I want shin guards, not knee & shin. My current ones are comfortable and do the job - a band-aid in the appropriate place is likely a cheaper solution for now

The Lizardskins are the only guards sold locally - and only by one store. I won't be able to try on anything else for size...which isn't a surprise. They are just to protect me from pedal slap which can be significant.

Thanks for the link!
