Running week of 7/20-7/26

I took yesterday off (our anniversary, etc. ), so today was long run day instead.

The rest day did me good. I'd spent all last week being sore; today I felt strong and did my hilly 10 miles @ 10:28. Yum yum!

I am sore all over and don't know why, so I walked 3.3 miles instead of running. I thought the heat would get to me, but I decided to walk before it did. It was like every injury I have ever had came out. Metatarsals on my left foot aching (stress fracture in 1988!), my usual aching right hip, and my knee with the road rash/bruise is really stiff. Well, I am happy to report that my hip actually feels better after the walk, and my pace was 15.8, so not that much slower than a run a lot of the time!

Sometimes I hate my body for rebelling the way it does. I did a 44 mile ride yesterday, which wasn't hilly, but hard in terms of pace and heat. I keep questioning whether I should be running at all, but usually I keep going. OK, off to veg out by the pond (reading Runner's World).

3.1 miles, slow jog with my dog at our local park this morning. Have been jogging on Mondays instead of spin class. I like to be outside every chance i get in the summer.

Happy anniversary!

Ok--I have been slowly slowly slowly increasing my milage. I am up to 2.5 on a flat and soft trail today. I am insanely slow and very careful, but I am doing it again! Yeah!

Yay Kacie! Coming back from an injury is tough. Glad to hear you're making progress.

I went out for a sloooow 60 minute run this morning. On the advice of wise women on these forums, I'm doing a "mini-taper" for a 300k ride in 100+ degree weather this coming Saturday. Given how HOT

it's going to be, I want to be as fresh as possible, without being a complete layabout all week.

Vermont is hilly! I ran 3.6 miles this morning before breakfast. After breakfast we rode two of the gaps. About 4,000 feet of climbing in 55 miles. I thought I might swim this afternoon, but lounging around for afternoon tea in the Inn lobby was WAY more appealing.

Today was kind of a tough day at work so I was glad to get out & run in the afternoon. Went 3miles it felt good and was a great way to clear my mind.

Kacie- I am so excited that you are able to run again!! Glad to hear you are being careful, that has to take a lot of restraint, but I'm sure once things are back to normal you'll be so thankful you did! Welcome back!

3.2 miles on rural paved road... 1st time running since rest for oral surgery last week. All of these niggling health things I thought I should get out of the way during summer I would have probably been better off doing over wintertime!

DONE for the summer (hopefully) with that stuff!

On to training!
