Nike Free Run+ shoes

Ok, so I didn't want to post this in the "Barefoot Running" thread, since it isn't really barefoot running. But, I just picked up a pair of these shoes last weekend. Wow, are they different from what I am used to wearing. I started out wearing them to just run errands and such for a few days. Then I started wearing them to work this week. My feet are slowly getting accustomed to the "free" feeling of these shoes. I'm even wearing them sockless, as they are really designed to be worn that way. They sort of feel like slippers.

I decided to try a short and slow jog on the treadmill the other day, and it went better than I expected. I did 1/4 mile walk/jog intervals for 20 minutes at no faster than a 5.5mph pace. Today, I was able to jog for 1.5 miles straight, on the tready. Aside from a bit of mild balls-of-feet discomfort, I felt fine during both of these treadmill jogs. Amazingly, I had no lower back or hip/butt pain that I usually get with something must have changed with my form, using these shoes. I'm pretty excited, but I don't want to push my luck too much. My hope in wearing these shoes, is that my toes will straighten out. Eventually, I would like to move into VFF Bikila's, but I think I will try and master running in the Nike Free Runs first. I'd be interested in hearing comments from others that wear Nike Free Run shoes. Thanks!
