Can Bones cardio handle 5 rounds?

I'm not sure he can. He's never had one yet, and one thing hardly anyone I've seen talk about is how hard he was breathing against Bader. Bones could have probably performed a lot better against Bader had he had more gas, but I could tell that Bones was getting pretty tired against Bader in the 2nd round, but he was doing whatever he wanted against him so he stayed confident and confidence in a fight where you know a guy is hurt always can help a guy to bring out more adrenaline to finish off someone when they're tired.

Also look back at the Bonnar fight. Bones had gassed hard in that fight. I know it was a while back, but his conditioning was horrible in that fight, but he was tearing Bonnar apart. He could have easily lost that fight had Bonnar not been so shell shocked at who he found himself fighting and been beaten so badly. Since that Bonnar fight the longest Bones has even gone in a fight was like the beginning of the 2nd against O Brian.

I love Bones and I think he can win this fight, but I'm not exactly sure if he can win if this fight goes past the 3rd round. His conditioning in his last fight especially definitely draws some serious concerns and we all know for a fact that Shogun can go 5 rounds with no problems at all.

Bones will have to finish Shogun early on if he expects to win this fight in my opinion.

He fights with such a high impact style I don't think he would make it, the real question is with his style, will he ever go 5?

Did you notice how hard he was breathing and how tired he was looking in that Bader fight? I think the fact that he was able to do whatever he wanted kept his confidence up and he was able to push through it some, but had that been a very difficult fight things could have been different as far as his cardio went. He was breathing pretty hard in that 2nd round and that was in a fight he controlled completely. No one seemed to talk about that or even notice it because he steam rolled Bader so easily, but I noticed it and it had me worried before he finally finished Bader. I had money on the line. I wanted that fight over with.

Any way, against a guy like Shogun who game plans well and is good enough to pressure him, if it goes into the 3rd round I've got to favor Shogun there and anything past that. Bones needs to find a way to end this fight in the first two in my opinion.

I agree completely, I can't see Bones doing well into the third against a guy like Shogun.

Its gonna depend if Shogun has his normal cardio. Because last time he came off an injury we all know how he faired in his first two fights back.

Shogun at 100% can go all day, which would be a problem for most LHWs.

And another thing is Shogun isnt just gonna lay under Bones and let him dictate the grappling. Mauricio has a very aggressive guard with sweeps and submissions so Bones is gonna have to work very, very hard to keep in position.

And if Jones wants to play the stand up its gonna be a tough night.... Because when you fight with Shogun reach doesnt matter. He gets inside on everybody.

This is what I worry about. I think Bones will take Shogun down rather easy, but if Shogun is effective on the ground where he's scrambling back up to his feet or giving Bones submission attempts where Bones has to defend and they're getting back up and standing again and then back to the ground and back to their feet, I think Bones isn't going to be ready for that kind of war as far as his cardio goes. Not with a guy like Shogun he won't. It's a lot easier to keep fighting when you're tired if you're owning the other guy and have that guy sort of gun shy like he had with Bader and Bonnar. It's a lot different when you're getting tired and someone else is pressuring you and throwing tough shots at you.

Bones looked like he was getting tired against Bader and that will be a big problem against Shogun if he can't finish him early.
