Worst UFC Cuts/financial disputes

I understand that contract negotiations are never easy and often complicated. However I do think that MMA fighters are underpaid as a whole and in some cases the UFC should have tried harder to keep certain fighters.

1. Dan Henderson: $250k guaranteed is not to much to ask for a fighter with a history like his. They should have caved.

2. Fabricio Werdum: History told me that he was let go because he came to the JDS fight out of shape and then asked for a raise. From what I've read online and Werdum has said himself, they wanted to CUT his pay by 50% on the remaining fights in his contract. That's bullshit. They should have let him win his next fight at the pre-negotiated rate.

"When I first heard the rumors, I didn't know anything," Werdum told Tatame.com. "I had four more fights left with [the UFC] on my contract, which ran to 2010. But they demanded to renegotiate my existing contract by cutting my pay in half."

3. A mixture of the following: Robbie Lawler, Scott Smith, Jason Miller and DEFINITELY Efrain Escudero.

Honorable Mentions:

Paul Daley:

I really wanted to include Paul Daley but he deserved it. I even hate Kos and I still thought they made the right call. They had to make an example to get MMA legalized in Ontario and New York. Paul Daley just happened to be the moron under that bus.

Logan Stanton:

Retarded fucking cut. I guarantee you she should could take down half the guys in the UFC. There is no TDD training for that smile.

Funny thing about all of the above fighters. They now work for Zuffa again

Edit: Except for Escudero but he's won his last two and I bet he'll make it back in to Strikeforce at least.

Logan Stanton was alright, but the new girl from WEC is a total slampiece and it's no competition.

I think Henderson was the worst release in the history. Well he wasn't released, just let go.

Hendo easily, he deserved the fat cash after all he has achieved in MMA.

With the UFC mocing into n ew markets around the world, they may be better served paying younger guys who will be around fopr the new casual fans to root for. Henderson fighting 4 more times and taking home 1 million dollars, does little good for the UFC and as they have show, what is good for the UFC is good for MMA and is becoming good for all fighters.

That's a great point, but it isn't like they have a salary cap, they have the money to sign all the top talent.

And the funny part is that they own his big contract now.
