Are you okay with the UFC ending Strikeforce?

Many think that's what is going to ultimately happen. How many in here would like to see the UFC take their best fighters one by one and ultimately put the best talent in the UFC and let SF fizzle eventually.

I used to want that to happen, but I'm not sure if that's what I'd like to see anymore at this point. The UFC has to many high profile fighters not fighting nearly enough and has to much of an agenda for certain fighters. I liked how Strikeforce had their MVP types of fighters fighting a lot and very often on their main cards with the exception of Fedor and Reem. With more top talent being strung into certain divisions, to me this would make the UFC's roster even bigger and more and more fighters would fight less, because I don't see the UFC being more active in doing more shows per month. This seems like it will have guys having to wait a lot longer to fight. And with all of these injuries happening more and more because of such long waiting periods, I'd rather SF stay alive and kicking.

What are your thoughts?

The UFC already has to many fighters and not enough shows as it is.... I would like to see SF stick around not only because there are more shows, but because its free... More UFC events means more PPVs, which means I'm not paying 100 dollars a month plus in PPVs.... And I don't really like watching at bars.

And with no other big shows fighters are gonna start fighting safe in fear of being cut and sent back to the bingo halls and high school gymnasiums.

Agree with every point here.

For once we are all on the same page. I love the Strikeforce cards. The problem is that the casual fans want one card per month that is super stacked. The hard cores want one card a week that is super stacked and free. That leads to the other big issue, content delivery.

Pay Per View is too expensive and it requires you to have at least basic cable. I have a monster home theater with a high def projector but I can't host fight nights at my place because I don't have basic cable. I only watch premium R rated shows like Game of Thrones (HBO), Spartacus (Stars), The Walking Dead (AMC), Boardwalk Empire (HBO), and Dexter (AMC) so traditional TV is dead to me. I don't like any sports except for MMA.

For UFC 129 I had to connect a computer to my friends TV so we could watch all 5 Facebook Prelims at poor resolution with shitty sound. Then I had to switch inputs on the TV and find the channel in Canada for Spike to watch those two Prelims. Then we had to call and wait on hold to book the PPV fights on a credit card. We couldn't get through on the phone so I connected a network cable to his HD Box so we could pay online through his CC. The amount of technical hassles I had to go through to watch ALL the fights is absurd and the UFC needs to offer a PURE internet direct solution. The Facebook video stream quality is shit.

The UFC complains about piracy but they are shooting themselves in the foot. They need to sell a 720P high def stream over UFC.com with ALL the fights on the card for $50. If they do that I'll buy a lot more cards than I do now. Strikeforce should also offer a pure internet direct solution, I'd pay for Overeem vs Werdum in a second!

If the UFC and Strikeforce continue to ignore the nerds we are going to continue to download ALL the fights from Usenet and Bittorrent. Traditional television is dead.

Note: My MMA folder is 700 Gigabytes... it's tiny compared to my 7+ terabytes of blu-rays.
