Practicing pranayama

Hey i am new to do the pranayama. I live in a remote village in india.I read some books on Yoga and saw some videos in the internet. I wish to know whether breathing exercises like clavicular breathing, chest rib breathing and diaphragmatic breathing, and alternate nostril breathing can be performed by anyone without the help of teacher.will anybody advise me on this subject.As i read that these exercises are very simple and can be practiced by anyone .Also i wish to know how many times in a day i can do this. Will anybody takes pain in describing the methods for the above exercises? ofcourse i am not sure about that

From my experience here there are few who would advocate the journey of pranayama without the guide of a sound, experienced teacher.

"Can" you do it. Of course. You can also remove your own teeth. What the outcome of these will be, no one can say. But the student must accept the consequences of their choice - just as you would accept the consequences of carrying your white linens across a muddy field in the rain. You may make it to the house with everything clean and dry. Or you might drop it all and get it more soiled than it ever was.

Again in my opinion. no one worth their salt in Yoga would teach pranayama with only a text description to an unknown student over the internet.
