Nasal vs mouth breathing

Excuse me if this has been asked before, but in reletively small variety of Hatha styles and instructors I have experienced, continual breathing thru the nose (both inhale and exhale) has always been the promoted technique.

Yet I have never heard a 'firm' statement anywhere that this is true in all Hatha styles.

Was curious if anyone has experienced differently.

Is there any style/technique where this is not the standard, or perhaps in specific asanas?

Be clear I am speaking only in regards to asana practice, not pranayam.

Nose breathing has the advantages of filtering, humidifying and warming the inhaled air. I have never heard of anyone advocating mouth breathing in asana. One exception: when your nostrils are blocked due to a cold.
