feeling back pain

Hi I hope it is ok to post this question here.

I have been practicing yoga for about a year. I recently felt some back pain in my lower back.

I have been building my practice so to speak, I never do anything I'm not ready for and recently I just started doing the wheel, when I used to do the bridge. I feel comfortable in wheel and usually take 5 breaths.

Is the wheel a compromising position for lower back?

Are there any positions that compromise the lower back that you could suggest avoid?

Are there any positions that would be benificial to strengthening my lower back?

Students who cannot mobilize their thoracic region in backbends and thereby uniformly arch the spine would tend to have the back bending action in the lumbar spine or low back as it is a more mobile structure.

Done improperly, most positions can be compromising.

there are some specific answers to your question but they depend on many factors and are best imparted directly from teacher to student personally.
