Is Cod liver oil harmful ?

(expletive removed), I just started taking Cod liver oil capsules & I found this posting on another forum : "all livers have the toxins of the creature and at the point of its death, the liver is the last thing you would want to consume". Should I stop taking Cod liver oil ?

not sure you expletive is appropriate for a spiritual forum like this. but anyway, cod liver oil is very good for you, very high doses may give you too much Vitamin A or Vitamin D which could be toxic, however this would be very hard to do!

go here to find out more about cod liver oil.: www.newmediaexplorer...r_one_superfood.htm#

and here to find out about vitamin toxicity:

bottom line is that cod live oil and fish oil are two of the best vitamins you can take! just about every single human being should be taking them.

I was born in a Brahmin (Hindu) family & I've been taught about 'Ahimsa' since I was born, but for me health is my priority & we all have different priorities in life & a multitude of diverse interests & views.

anyway after reading the article on this site :

(a must read for vegetarians, vegans and anyone in between) & an exhaustive research and consultations all my doubts regarding cod liver oil got cleared. Mixing yoga with cod liver oil is not all a bad idea.

the problem with cod liver oil is it might have mercury in it. Maybe flaxseed oil is a good alternative. They both have Omega-3s. (or more corectly, cod liver oil has omega 3s and flaxseed oil has precursors to omega-3s)

i might be wrong.
