Sun up or Sun down

I once read or heard that in the ancient text, they recommend doing Yoga at either sun up or sundown, can't remember why but if I had to choose, I'd go with sundown, or even before going to sleep. Don't get me wrong, if I do it first thing in the morning, I do feel great the rest of the day because of it but I find myself forcing my way through it sometimes. My muscles and joints just don't seem willing early on. I get the burning feeling, especially in the shoulders.

Any one else have a preference?

I prefer to practice after work as well because I'm very tight in the morning. I find poses that I do with ease in the evening cause me a lot of "pain" earlier in the day.

It makes no difference though after I've been up for 2 hours or so.

I prefer to do my yoga early in the morning. That's the best time for me.

I do yoga when I feel that my body needs it, which can be in the middle of the night, in the crack of dawn or in the afternoon or.. You get my point. I often get the urge to do yoga when I'm stressed and angry, which most often happens when I'm at work and that is not a yoga friendly enviroment.

I always want to bring my mat with me so I can do a session during lunch, but I doubt our workman's comp would allow it! hahaha

Not to mention the fact that people would think that we're crazy!

Everyone already laughs at me because I do poses & basic stretches while in my chair working at my computer! LOL I just get so uncomfortable sitting in the same position so long.

You think you get laughed at, try being an athletic, young male and admit your love for Yoga, then you hear laughs lol. Oh well, we'll see who's laughing later on in life when they can barely climb out of bed in the mornings!!

I don't understand why people think it's strange for a man to practice yoga! But you're right...you'll have the last laugh!

5am every day is when I practice my yoga. There is no better way to start a day off than with yoga.
